Nappy Stress and COVID-19

This report, released in October 2020, investigated the impact that COVID-19 has had on families at risk of nappy stress. It found that COVID-19 has aggravated many of the factors that contribute to nappy stress, including income, cost of living, family violence and mental health problems. It is estimated that nappy stress has worsened by at least 12%, however the true impact of the pandemic won’t be fully understood until well after it passes.

Nappy Stress in Victoria

The landmark research report released in May 2019 defined the term nappy stress and aimed to better understand the social needs and support gaps currently faced by families experiencing nappy stress. It found that 250,000 children in 140,000 families were experiencing nappy stress in Australia. It has helped raised awareness and a discussion in the community on how we collectively address this problem.
